Several childrens hands reach into a large bowl of Popcorn Mix on a red and white striped blanket. A small green bowl with snacks is nearby, creating a festive scene perfect for an Independence Day picnic or outdoor gathering.

🎆 Independence Day Treat: Red, White & Blue Popcorn Mix

  • Author: Lucy Doudlah

Description

⭐ A festive, crunchy, lightly sweetened snack perfect for 4th of July gatherings — made with clean ingredients and colorful patriotic flair!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Popcorn Base:

  • ½ cup Doudlah Farms Organic Popcorn kernels
  • 23 tbsp coconut oil (or high-heat oil of choice)
  • Salt to taste

For the Red, White & Blue Mix:

  • ½ cup dried strawberries or freeze-dried raspberries (Red)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips or yogurt-covered raisins (White)
  • ½ cup dried blueberries or freeze-dried blueberries (Blue)
  • Optional: patriotic sprinkles or edible stars

Optional Sweet Drizzle:

  • ½ cup white chocolate chips, melted (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Pop the Corn:
    • In a large pot, heat coconut oil over medium heat.
    • Add 2–3 kernels and cover. When they pop, add the rest of the kernels and cover again.
    • Shake the pot gently every 20–30 seconds to prevent burning.
    • Once popping slows, remove from heat and transfer popcorn to a large mixing bowl.
    • Lightly salt the popcorn to taste.
  2. Prepare the Mix-Ins:
    • Roughly chop any large dried fruit pieces if needed.
    • Set aside white chocolate chips or melt them if you want to drizzle over the top.
  3. Combine & Mix:
    • Gently fold in the dried strawberries, blueberries, and white chocolate chips or yogurt raisins.
    • If using melted white chocolate, drizzle over the popcorn and toss to lightly coat. Add sprinkles while the drizzle is still warm so they stick.
  4. Let Set & Serve:
    • Spread the popcorn mix on a parchment-lined tray to let the drizzle set (if used), about 10 minutes.
    • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days — but it’s best served fresh!
