NEW Certification-Tested Clean! Â For 220+ Pesticides & Glyphosates. www.testedclean.org BEYOND ORGANIC
Our Cranberry beans are grown in certified organic soils. Our beans are harvested at peak flavor so you can enjoy a unique taste. This heirloom bean; is a Columbian Delight a soft, velvety bean with a rich texture and a pleasant nutty flavor. You can use this bean in any recipe that you would use a pinto bean. Â All Beans grown on our family farm in Wisconsin. Â Organic is Non-GMO.
**NOTE: Â Due to drought our little “finicky” Cranberrys were unhappy. Â We have a few more splits then normal, HOWEVER, splits are NOT bad. (Hense the name split pea soup). Â If you feel the need to separate, I cook by themselves and put into blender with water or Broth and add to soups and stews to make creamier. Â Freeze what you don’t use.
FRESHER IS BETTER: Canned vs. Dried Beans:
Canned: 15 oz can of beans = only 10 Oz of Beans when drained. BPA in Cans, Added Sodium, Sugar and Preservatives. Â Toxins from cans.
Dried Organic Beans: Â More Economical: one serving = 11 cents. Â 1 Pound dried beans = approx. 3 pounds when cooked. Â Better Tasting, More Nutrients, Longer Shelf Life, No BPA or additives. Â Just Plain Goodness.
Directions: Â Please wash thoroughly. Watch for debris and stones. As we strive for perfection, however, it is not always possible to remove all debris. Some small stones are the same size as the bean and can get past the best inspectors.
Cleaning & Basic Cooking instructions: Â Rinse and sort thoroughly, Soak Beans for 5-6 hours or best overnight and drain when ready for use. Boil in 6-8 cups of fresh water for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 60-90 minutes in favorite recipe. Add to your slow cooker or Instant Pot to finish the cooking process.
Warning: Â If not cooked properly, do not eat the beans! Undercooked and raw beans are toxic due to a plant lectin known as phytohaemagglutnin.
