These small, white oval beans have a mild flavor, making them a classic choice for Boston Baked Beans and the famed Senate Bean Soup, served daily at the U.S. Senate’s restaurant. Also known as white pea beans, they are a versatile pantry staple.

WHY CHOOSE DRIED BEANS?

Canned Beans: 15 oz cans = 10 oz drained beans. Often contain BPA, added sodium, sugar, and preservatives.
Dried Beans: 1 lb = ~3 lbs cooked beans. They have a fresher taste, better value, longer shelf life, and no additives or BPA.

BASIC COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Rinse and sort thoroughly.
Soak beans for 8+ hours (overnight is best). Replace soaking water 2-3 times for optimal results.
Boil beans in 8+ cups of fresh water for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 90-120 minutes, or finish cooking in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.

NOTE: Always cook beans thoroughly. Undercooked beans may contain naturally occurring plant lectins. While we aim for quality, occasional small debris may remain despite rigorous inspections.
