BEYOND ORGANIC: Our Small Red Beans, grown in certified organic soils using regenerative farming practices, are harvested at peak flavor for exceptional taste. These beans, native to Peru and historically significant to Maya and Aztec civilizations, are now grown with care on our family farm in Wisconsin. Known for their ability to hold their shape when cooked, Small Red Beans are ideal for New Orleans-style Red Beans and Rice, as well as salads, soups, stews, and Tex-Mex recipes.

ORIGIN: Proudly grown in Wisconsin, USA, on our sixth-generation organic family farm. Your purchase supports American farmers and independent family-owned agriculture.

WHY CHOOSE DRIED BEANS?

  • Canned Beans: 15 oz cans = 10 oz drained beans. Often contain BPA, added sodium, sugar, and preservatives.
  • Dried Beans: 1 lb = ~3 lbs cooked beans. They have a fresher taste, better value, longer shelf life, and no additives or BPA.

BASIC COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Rinse and sort thoroughly.
  2. Soak beans for 5-6 hours (overnight is best) and drain.
  3. Boil beans in 6-8 cups of fresh water for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 60-90 minutes, or finish cooking in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.

NOTE: Always cook beans thoroughly. Undercooked beans may contain naturally occurring plant lectins. While we strive for perfection, occasional small debris may remain despite rigorous inspections. Store dry beans in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for maximum freshness.

VERSATILE & ROBUST: Small Red Beans are a flavorful addition to your favorite dishes, from hearty stews to vibrant Tex-Mex recipes. Their rich taste and firm texture make them a pantry essential for creative cooking.
